UNEP DTU Partnership has emerged as a leader and pioneer in developing tools and methodologies for undertaking actions that result in sustainable development. Examples include tools for implementing the Clean Development Mechanism, and Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions. This Tool box presents a list of all the tools produced or supported by UNEP DTU Partnership that can better assist developing countries in addressing climate change and achieving sustainable development.

 UNEP Pledge Pipeline

The Pledgepipeline hosts the Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs/NDCs) that are submitted to the UNFCCC. UNEP DTU Partnership updates the NDC & PledgePipeline as soon as new INDCs/NDCs are submitted.

Climate Initiatives Platform

The Climate Initiatives Platform (CIP) is an online data base/portal for collecting, sharing and tracking information on international cooperative climate initiatives driven by non-state actors such as business, cities, and regions. Currently, the collection consists of more than 200 initiatives.

CDM Methodologies and Technologies Selection Tool

The CDM Methodologies & Technologies Selection Tool provides:

  • Easy access to a complete overview of all methodology options based on the specific project characteristics

  • Easy access to general economic sector overviews, the relevant technologies applied in a given sector for emissions reduction – and statistics on CDM projects in the sector

  • A discussion forum that allows practitioners to exchange experience on the practical application of methodologies for specific technologies

 CDM/JI Pipeline Analysis and Database

The CDM/JI Pipeline Analysis and Database contains all CDM/JI projects that have been sent for validation/determination. It also contains the  baseline & monitoring methodologies, a list of DOEs and several analyses. Almost all information is from and

 CDM Bazaar

The UNFCCC CDM Bazaar is a Web-based facility which serves as a platform for exchange of information on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project   opportunities.

 The CDM Bazaar

 • Covers supply of and demand for CDM projects, i.e. the actions taken by project sellers, buyers and service providers (in a broad sense).

The key objective of  the Bazaar is to facilitate the creation of an efficient global CDM market through sharing information related to project activities and transactions of Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) among stakeholders worldwide.

 • Is a global "virtual information exchange place" open to all interested parties. It aims to be a facilitating initiative that will help to reduce transaction costs in the CDM project cycle as well as to encourage increased information exchange and dialogue among current and potential future project participants and other market players. As such, the Bazaar will generally enhance the capacity of Non Annex 1 members of the UNFCCC.

 • Functions as a cost-free service.

 • Is not a "deal-maker" as this function lies within the realm of private sector intermediaries and service providers.

 CDM Loan Scheme

The UNFCCC Loan Scheme for CDM is an electronic loan application system. Loans are offered to provide financing for the CDM validation, registration and  verification process. This includes: a) the preparation of the Project Design Document (PDD), b) the validation by a ‘Designated Operational Entity’ (DOE), c) the registration of the project with the UNFCCC, and d) the monitoring and verification of the first issuance of ‘Certified Emissions Reductions’ (CERs).

NAMA Pipeline Analysis and Database

The NAMA Pipeline Analysis and Database contains all submissions to the UNFCCC from developing countries and countries in transition for Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions. Such submissions have not yet been formalized and succeed in a bottom-up process induced by the current developments in international climate negotiations.

GNESD Energy Access Knowledge Base

The GNESD Energy Access Knowledge Base is an ongoing collection of energy access cases in Africa, Asia and South America. It includes policies, projects or programmes which have lead to increased access to energy services for households, communities or small scale businesses. The main purpose of the knowledge base is to provide easy access to well structured and searchable information about energy access initiatives globally. Each case illustrates how a specific demand among the energy poor has been met through sustainable provision of modern energy solutions.

 AfriCAN Climate Portal

AfriCAN Climate is an interactive knowledge platform, providing targeted scientific research, indigenous knowledge and policies related to climate change in Africa. AfriCAN Climate provides information about research projects, reviews of publications, good practice cases of climate change mitigation and adaptation projects,   links, tools and more.

ClimateTechWiki offers a platform for a wide range of stakeholders in developed and developing countries who are involved in technology transfer and the wider context of low emission and low vulnerability development. ClimateTechWiki offers detailed information on a broad set of mitigation and adaptation technologies.
