UNEP DTU Partnership is seeking a Project Officer to support the Cleaner Energy Development (CED) Programme’s work on project development, management, and execution. To support the broader objectives of capacity building and project implementation, particularly in the areas of technology transfer and innovation, the candidate will be required to coordinate and support project proposal development, including liaison with other UDP programmes and DTU departments, in different areas related to energy and climate technologies, and targeting developing countries. In addition, the Project Officer will assist the CED Programme Manager in management and administrative tasks.
The successful candidate will join an international team of over 60 professionals in an interdisciplinary work environment.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in economics, engineering, planning, or other relevant discipline and 5-7 years of experience working with international energy and climate change projects. Specifically, our ideal candidate has worked with public sector donors/clients (national or international), to deliver policy-support projects related to climate technologies, sustainable energy & transport, ideally in developing countries, and has a thorough understanding of global climate action processes.
Activities that the position requires will include capacity building/teaching module preparation & delivery, project development and planning (e.g. proposal preparation, LFA/Theory of Change), coordination of subcontractors, budgeting, reporting to funders, and similar project management tasks. Therefore, it is important that the candidate can demonstrate previous involvement with comparable tasks. Moreover, we value candidates with a niche knowledge field, e.g. economic analysis, CBA, value chain analysis, technology innovation, or similar.
The working language at the Centre is English. Due to a growing portfolio of activities worldwide we are especially interested in candidates who are proficient and able to operate professionally in at least two other UN languages.
Terms of employment
The successful candidate will be employed in a permanent, full-time position according to the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The place of work is the UN City based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
