Call for Consultant - NDC preparation in South Sudan

UNEP DTU Partnership is seeking to hire a short term International Consultant to Support South Sudan for preparation of the (Intended) Nationally Determined Contributions (I)NDC document.

Nature of assignment

The consultant will work in close cooperation with National Focal Point, UDP representative and national experts to deliver tasks from forestry and energy sector (particularly hydropower).

Duration of assignment

30 to 40 days starting 1st September 2017.

Qualifications for consultant

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Environmental Sciences, or related Climate Change field. Multi-disciplinary training preferable.

Work Experience
- Minimum of ten years of relevant work experience in climate change domain.

Extensive experience with GHG inventories, mitigation and adaptation assessments and measures within the framework of national communications, biennial update reports and technology needs assessments is desirable. 

- Candidates/Firms with prior experience in South Sudan in both climate change mitigation and adaptation projects will be given preference.

- Experience in project management and GEF climate change related issues is an asset.

- Prior experience with detailing out NAMA financing options is desirable.


Fluency in written and oral English is required. French is an advantage.
