Vacancy Announcement - Research Assistant for the Cleaner Energy Development Programme

The Cleaner Energy Development Programme at UNEP DTU partnership (UDP) is recruiting a Research Assistant to support programme and project management, and research in key areas. The successful candidate will join UDP’s international team of over 60 professionals in an interdisciplinary work environment that combines research, methodology development, capacity building and project implementation in developing countries.

- MSc degree or equivalent in geography, engineering, environmental sciences, or other discipline related to climate change or energy.
- Experience in developing proposals for funding agencies (such as H2020, EuropeAid, World Bank, GCF, GEF, International Development Banks) in the area of climate change and partnerships with developing countries.
- Familiarity and relevant work experience related to prioritisation and implementation of climate friendly technologies, enabling frameworks for diffusion of technology transfer projects, sustainable transitions and related policy issues for mitigation and adaptation to climate change in a developing country context.
- Experience with programme management (incl. reporting, budget, and consultation processes) and ability to comply with tightly managed internal processes is a pre-requisite.
- Demonstrated capability to work with websites and database systems, experience with processing both quantitative and qualitative data and appropriate methodological skills.
- Experience in planning and organising workshops and conferences on climate change or energy with an international audience is an asset.
- Experience with work and travel in developing countries, and availability to travel is an advantage.
